Insula Haţeg - Cu milioane de ani in urmă, Insula Haţeg se ivea din apele puţin adânci ale Mării Thetis care acoperea o parte a Europei. În secolul al XIX-lea, aici au fost identificate circa zece specii de dinozauri pitici. Descoperirea a condus la apariţia teoriei ştiinţifice potrivit căreia habitatul insulei ar fi dat naştere unor animale pitice. 

Hațeg Island - Millions of years ago, Haţeg Island arose in the shallow waters of Thetis Sea covering a part of Europe. In the nineteenth century, there were found about ten species of dwarf dinosaurs. The discovery led to the scientific theory of 'island habitat' that would have given rise to dwarf animals.
